From the President’s Desk,

Hello, my name is Dick Wilcox and I am the President of the Hardin Community Federal Credit Union. I wanted to write a few lines and update our membership regarding Member Service, First Quarter financials and our plans for the summer.

The first quarter of our business cycle was focused heavily on our merger of data and information with the Logan Credit Union. With that task wrapped up we began to focus on our financial efficiency as a consolidated credit union and more importantly the service that we provide our membership. I am happy to report that we have a new Teller Supervisor that will be starting at our Logan Branch very soon. Karen Streetman is a graduate of Bellefontaine High School and currently lives in Bellefontaine as well. Karen comes to us with strong experience in service, cash handling and even experience with a Credit Union. The Board of Directors would like to welcome Karen to our family, wish her the best of luck and invite our members to stop in, meet Karen and say hello!

Financially the Credit Union continues to be very strong. We are experiencing very steady, solid growth in loans and shares, member retention and growth are taking hold and usage of our online products and services by our new partners in Logan is increasing. Net Worth of our institution is very sound at 10.80% while delinquency pressure has increased with the downturn in the economy but is still within reasonable limits. Our Collection Manager is working hard to help our members through these difficult times while protecting the assets of our Credit Union.

This summer you will begin to notice a more concerted marketing effort in and around the Logan Community along with our same level of marketing activity in the Hardin Community. Our strategy has been to allow the Logan staff time to become accustomed to new procedures, account features, products and services and to settle into their roles with the consolidated credit union. Now that the staff has developed product knowledge and are prepared to confidently answer our members’ questions, we will begin to market to new members and to educate existing members about our full line of financial products and services.

The Board of Directors and Staff of the Credit Union would like to thank you for your continued patronage and we hope that you watch this page for future updates on new products and services. I will write a quick note on occasion to keep you informed of our financial position and the progress we are making on adding the benefits that you, our Members, are asking for.
